What is Blue Light?
Blue light is a component of the visible light spectrum. It has a wavelength between 380 and 500 nanometers and is considered a short-wave, high-energy type of light. It is generally emitted from natural sources, particularly sunlight.
Blue light can also be emitted from artificial sources. Digital devices and lighting elements such as LED screens, computer monitors, smartphones, tablets, and energy-saving light bulbs can all emit blue light.
This light also reaches the retina of the eye, affecting sleep patterns and our biological clock. Additionally, prolonged exposure to this light can lead to significant eye problems such as eye strain, headaches, and macular degeneration. Blue light protective glasses reduce these harmful effects and improve visual comfort.
